Hi
I have 2 questions regarding rebooking and cancelling resources, working in a crew.
We have a setup where we use crews.
Let's say we have a truck (T1), with 2 resources, R1 and R2.
We then schedule a Work Order for a given day for T1, and it will automatically schedule R1 and R2 - all this is fine, and as we want it.
1.
In the morning R2 calls in sick, and we want to replace R2 with R3. So on the day R1 and R3 will be driving on the truck T1.
I've not been successful with this, other that rescheduling the Work Order to a whole other crew.
2.
In the morning R2 calls in sick, and we want to remove the booking from R2, and don't replace R2 with any other.
So on this Work Order we'll only have R1 driving on the truck T1.
If I remove the booking from R2, it cascades to R1 and T1, and removes the booking from all of them, so the Work Order is no longer scheduled.
Kind regards
Magnus
Not sure if exactly what you are after however you can move a booking for resource requirement from hourly view by right clicking and select new resource.
Hi Jessica, #2 is relatively easy to achieve. In the booking of the sick resource R2, set "Cascade Crew Changes" to false and delete the R2 booking.
In case #1 (and that would include case #2 automatically) it's likely more complicated since I couldn't find a way to reassign a booking from R2 to R3. One approach would be (for example using Flow) to remove R2 from the crew, optionally add R3, store the details of the overarching crew booking, remove it and re-create it.
Hi Magnus,
did you ever get this resolved? I am also not having any luck makeing changes to a booking if a crew resource gets sick.
Kind Regards,
Jessica
Thank you for the reply.
I can now cancel the booking on an individual resource, but when I try to move a booking from one resource to another, for example because the resource called in sick, I get the prompt: "Please use the Rebook functionality to move Requirement Group Bookings from one resource to another resource.". Then when I actually try to use that "Rebook group" functionality, it simply don't move the booking from the 'sick' resource to a replacement.
To answer your questions, you will have to create a crew strategy.
It is possible in Dynamics Field Service.
Just make sure you create a Crew Self-management strategy.
Hi m.jeppesen,
Thank you for your question and using the Community Forums
Your assiged Crew Strategy will impact how a crew booking is resschedulled in the application
Can you verify if you can achieve your goal with the Crew member self-management strategy ?
