Hello, we have a SmartList that we wish to automate the run/export excel file every evening.
Is this possible and, if so, what is the process to set up?

To expand on Derek's idea regarding Excel reports, I have a set of articles that outlines how they are deployed, used, and customized:

With these, you can get the same data as the SmartList, in an Excel sheet that you can open in the morning and have refresh. There are a few different options for the data refresh, and these are linked to in the last link above.

Most of the default SmartLists already have an existing Excel report that can be deployed from Dynamics GP, so that may be an option, even with custom SmartLists, you can Publish them into a SQL View that could be used in some way with Excel.
Otherwise, there really isn't any automation built into SmartList that will automatically run and export a SmartList report into an Excel spreadsheet.
There may be some type of automated solution out there that the Community knows about and hopefully they'll share, but by default, there isn't any way I know of automating this type of process.

I'm not aware of that capability using a SmartList, but alternatively, you could do it with a subscription and an SSRS report.
