Item Tracking in Production Journal - Manufacturing.

Hello Experts!  Can you please help shed some light on how to modify the expiration date in the Item Tracking Lines on post of the last output in the Production Journal? I tried updating the expiration date of  the entry in the Reservation Entry Table as I am pretty sure that's where the item tracking is stored (e.g., lot no and exp date).  But the modify doesn't do anything.  I don't error out but it also did not update the Reservation Entry.  Please help.

Where did you add the code, just FYI a reservation will have two entries with same entry number one is positive and other not. Make sure you are updating the correct one.

HI Suresh,  For the item tracking info, it only has one entry in the reservation entry table.  But nevertheless, your response triggered something in me that led me to realize I wasn't updating at the right code section.  I updated the reservation entry table fine.  However, it always gets overwritten by the code that saves the itemtrackingspecification temp table.  So once I found the correct place where to update the expiration date....which is before itemtrackingspecification is saved, then the update of expiration date in the reservation entry stayed.  Thank you much.

Amol,  thank you much.  I would love to start using the debugger to debug.  can yo forward a link where I can learn how to do this?  I haven't had any luck making this happen.  Thank you much.

HI Mohanna,  thank you for the response.  I looked into the reclass.journal but for what I am trying to do which is just to update the expiration date, it may seem too much to automate.  I wanted to update the expiration date in code when users are posting production journal.  but this is certainly something I can recommend for users to do as it's in the current UI.  Thank you!

HI Maneesha.  duly noted.  I will forward this link to my users.  However, the update I want to do should be via code during posting.  Thank you much.

    Mbr,

Go to development Environment, Tools -> Debugger -> Debug Session

From the list of Sessions, select your session and click on Debug.

    A new window will appear.

Now again perform the same action, as of you are getting the error. By this, you will come to a point where you have encountered the error.

Also you can refer below link:

    Happy debugging.. :)
