How to compile entire application without VS?

I found that the use of AutoDBSync.ps1 allows to sinchronize DDBB from a shell without VS (more info: https://community.dynamics.com/ax/b/axilitynet/archive/2016/01/28/ax7-database-synchronization-w-o-visual-studio)

So, I was curious about if it's possible to compile a application without using VS. I looked in several scripts, deployment packages runbooks, etc (that's how I noticed AutoDBSync.ps1), but found nothing. Anybody can enlight about this?

(Yes, the objective is to force compilations and syncs in Prod an Test environments)

Use the build server to compile source code to binary files (packed to a deployable package). It's the main purpose of build server.

There is nothing to compile in production environments, because there is no source code.

    Hi,

You can do that with AX without entering in AOT , when you go to system administratiion , under Periodic section , the second menu is Compile application ...

    Thanks

    Well pointed, Inadir.
Then, in a Production or Test that don't have source code, would this make sense or take effect?
    Have anybody done this?

I suspect Ismail is talking about AX 2012, not AX 7. These things have changed significantly.
