NAV2013: partner and cronus license includes no "limited user call"?

Hi,

I am already doing partner readiness for NAV 2013 in different countries, and because every time I got the same questions about "Limited User" I have decided to setup a specific user and testing out what is not answered in the licensing guide.

The problem is that it seems it is not possible to sign in as a limited user with partner license or cronus license.?

First I thought it was a mistake because the error message is typically

"You program license does not permit more users to work simult..."

The partner license has a lot of sessions available and I am able to login with additional Full users but not with a limited user. I have seen that there is written down the wording "Full user cal" in the partner license.

My question:

Do I need another (customer?) license to test "limited user" or is it possible to do this also with a partner license and I made a mistake?

Thank you!

Rene

In NAV 2013 there is no enforcement at software level between a light and full user.  So there is no technical difference between the two users.  Next version of NAV will have the difference and enforcement.  NAV 2013 works on honor system.

    Hi Rashed! :-)

Thanks for your answer, I know this also ;) but this was not my question.

The question is – why isn’t it possible to log in with a limited user using a partner license or is it?

(there are a lot of scenarios where this can happen on a customer site)

    Hi

We also have the same question, we have customers asking us to advise on the number of Limited and Full licences they need but without a way to test then this is proving extremely time consuming.  We need this functionality to enable us to sell the product correctly.

Hi, I have updated(downloaded) our partner license again this week on Monday  and now it is working!

(I was talking to MS about this before - perhaps they changed something)

Try to download a new license file!

Partners can select to include 3 limited users when they create their Demo/Dev license in Voice.

Limited users are enforced in NAV 2013. The number of tables a limited user can write to is currently not.

    Kind Regards,
