Limiting users to view Business to Consumer (B2C) contacts in marketing but still see Business to Business (B2B) contacts

Posted on by 223

Hi,

I'm using Dynamics 365 CE with Sales and Marketing apps

I'm not sure how to set up permissions or security roles to enable certain users to see and act on, creating marketing emails, customer journeys.

Basically don't want the users who will manage the B2C contacts in the app not to view or edit any of the B2B contacts and for the two groups not to cross when sending out marketing material

    Hi,

    Sorry about the late reply..

Business to Business is what we consider Contacts that are associated with Accounts

Business to Consumer is just Contacts.   In the industry we're in HealthCare, one of our department just wants to send marketing material detailing services we provide for just patients, old and existing one.

What we don't want is marketing material inadvertently being sent to the wrong set of people...

So within in the Dynamics 365 for Marketing I've created another Entity called Veterans we those Contacts are stored.

What I want to know if it's possible to just let certain people have access to these contacts information.

The idea is to have two departments to have access to the Marketing app

    1) Sales and Marketing who will send marketing material to a certain group of Contacts / Accounts

    2) The team that deal with Veterans.  Who will only send marketing material to there group of Contacts.

Those that can access, add, edit, delete will be the Veterans Team and certain members of the Sales and Marketing Team.

I have a  Security Role called Veterans Read / Write.  I've set the Marketing email to Organisation.

Is it just a simple now to add the User roles to the people??

    Hi Chris1968,

1.If you want to restrict specific roles from being able to use marketing emails and customer Journeys,

please create a security role that does not have either of the following permissions:

2.I don't understand the meaning of B2B and B2C, maybe you mean a security role that can only see some contacts?
