Anyone else encountering this issue with PBI? Even trying to connect to my environment i get this.

An exception occurred: [DataSource.Error] The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid. Error: The type Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.msdyn_mobileapp has conflicting definitions for the property msdyn_mobileappid_msdyn_mobileapp

    Hi,

Can you please provide more information, please? Is it correct to assume PBI stands for Power BI in your question? Did it work before, or are you trying to build something new? If it did work, are you aware of recent changes?

How is your question related to Dynamics 365 Finance or Human Resources?

Yes Power BI, it did work before, the only change i'm aware of is the creation of the Mobile App tables in the Dataverse, created on the 12th September 2026, that table contains those columns. Anytime I try to connect to my instance, it throws up that error, before I even select a table. My Power BI dashboard is only connected to Dynamics 365 Human Resources tables.

Thanks for the clarification. There might be a reference to the "msdyn" tables. Can you review this or ask a colleague? How exactly do you connect to the HRM data? Is this via a Fabric or Synapse link? If so, you can check if the “msdyn” tables can be removed from the Dataverse sync.

I've had the same errors since the 12th too.

We have a lot of existing Power BI reports that connect to Dynamics FO using the API URL (v9.1)

The reports were working fine, we've not changed anything but are now getting the following error in Power BI desktop when refreshing the data on the cdm_departments, cdm_positionworkerassignmentmaps, cdm_jobpositions, cdm_jobs, cdm_workerpersonaldetails and cdm_workers tables:
“The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid. Error: The type Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.msdyn_mobileapp has conflicting definitions for the property msdyn_mobileappid_msdyn_mobileapp.”

I am having the same issue starting on 12th too.
I have a PowerBI report extracting data from Incident (case) table from Dynamics 365 dataverse.
And it is failing in refreshing:

    Data source error:

DataSource.Error: The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid. Error: The type Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.msdyn_mobileapp has conflicting definitions for the property msdyn_mobileappid_msdyn_mobileapp.. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ErrorCode = 10306. Microsoft.Data.Mashup.ValueError.DataSourceKind = Cds. DataSourcePath = https://starsystems.crm5.dynamics.com/. Property = msdyn_mobileappid_msdyn_mobileapp. . The exception was raised by the IDbCommand interface.

Same problem for me, all worked fine until friday the 11th, then a lot of my refreshed give an error about some metadata that I don't even use in the dataset.

DataSource.Error: The feed's metadata document appears to be invalid. Error: The type Microsoft.Dynamics.CRM.msdyn_mobileapp has conflicting definitions for the property msdyn_mobileappid_msdyn_mobileapp.

Only crm5 = Asia region gives this error, all other regions are still ok. I see in the ticket above that it's also crm5, not sure if others have the same issue in other regions, otherwise it's clear where MS needs to look for the problem.

As there are multiple similar issues, I recommend to create a ticket for Microsoft Support. There might be a regression as part of an rollout.

I am experiencing the same issue. Has anyone logged this with Microsoft?

I created a support ticket but also already found this:

A recent service update introduced a code regression that is impacting OData $Select query processing, causing refresh and connection failures in Power BI. [1]
    Incident Details
    •
    • Root Cause: A code regression in recent regional service rollouts is breaking specific OData query parameters (particularly $Select).
    • Status: Microsoft is tracking the issue, with the next status update expected on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.
    • Impact: Scheduled and on-demand refreshes in the Power BI Service fail when attempting to parse or fetch data via affected OData endpoints, even though they may still work locally in Power BI Desktop. [1, 2]

Just cropped up for me has anyone found a solution as I don't run any mobile apps or use the mobile app table at all
