Hi all,

Is there a simple answer to the difference between an Inventory Put-Away and a Warehouse Put-Away?

Thanks

When your location is setup to require put-away processing but not receive processing, you use the Inventory Put-away document to record and post put-away and receipt information for your source documents. The inbound source document can be a purchase order, a sales return order, an inbound transfer order, or a production order whose output is ready for put-away.

The Warehouse Put-away window contains the instructions that a warehouse employee will follow to put received items into storage. This window is used when the location is set up to require both put-away and receipt processing.

In a very simple term, If you are using Warehouse Management having BINs and you have two different persons available for Receiving and Storage (Put-Away), You can use "Warehouse Receipt" & "Warehouse Put-away" option.

If you have single person handling everything, you can use "Inventory Put-away" option which would directly creates the Receipt (and / or Invoice) and Put-Away from single screen.

    Hope this helps.
