Hi,

May I get some advice under which circumstances that we have item with Product Type : Service, but the model group is Stocked item ?
I understand that in posting profile, for Purchase Order activity, Service item but set as stocked will got to Purchase Expenditure for product instead Purchase Expenditure for service, but then my question is why or what for ? why not put as Product Type : Item then ?

which also clearly described that Service item should have Model group - stocked = unchecked. This is the recommendation. Although it is not forced (which then create this /un-necessary/ confusion)

Thanks.

    Hi,

it is recommended to have a Service item with the Product Type set as "Service" and the Model group - Stocked product unchecked. This is because Service items are typically not physically stocked or inventoried.
However, there might be some scenarios where you may choose to have a Service item with the Model group - Stocked product checked. One possible scenario could be when you want to track the cost of providing a service that involves the use of physical products or materials. By having the Model group - Stocked product checked, you can associate the cost of those stocked items with the service provided.
For example, if you offer a service for repairing electronic devices, you may stock spare parts or components that are used in the repair process. In this case, you can create a Service item with the Model group - Stocked product checked to track the cost of those stocked items used during the repair service.

    Best regards,
    Kevin
