Migration and User Passwords

We're migrating from Solomon 6 to Dynamics NAV 2013 and we're bumping into an encrypted passwords issue.  SL6 appears to store user passwords in an encrypted format and we need to retrieve these in plain text so that we can migrate them to NAV2013 and Active Directory.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aleksander - I disagree.  I'm reaching out to the NAV community for help with a migration issue.  Thank you for taking a look, though.

This is not site for this question. This is NAV Community and this is not NAV problem. You have problem with encrypting. I think you can solve this problem very hard.

The best and right way is to reset passwords for all users (unfortunately for 2500 users). After that, you can set users to change passwords when first time logon in Windows. This is AD setup, not in relatingwith NAV or SL.

Our legacy ERP is SL6.5 with user names and passwords stored in a database table.  We're migrating to NAV2013 with Active Directory.  We can see the user names in the SL6.5 table, but passwords are encrypted.  We need the passwords so that we can create user names with existing passwords in Active Directory.

We want to avoid resetting passwords for 2,500 user names.

I am not sure what is a problem. Are you use domain usernames? Why you want to migrate passwords? I understand you want to migrate usernames, but passwords...

This is not problem about NAV, because you have not problem with import data, you have problem with data in SL.

If you use usernames in the same domain, you use the same usernames and you do not need to migrate them.

    Please, give us more informations.
