My business requirement is to calculate the revenue recognition based on project progress not based on fixed revenue recognition schedule.
Any advices how to accomplish my requirements?

    Hi Ahmed,

Can you tell more about your project requirements? What type of projects are you using and what functionality do you use for posting costs and invoicing? What are the exact required ledger entries at what moment for the revenue recognition?

Hi André Arnaud de Calavon ,

It's a construction business with a fixed price contract and revenue is recognized according to variable percentage not a fixed revenue schedules.

So every time we finish a percent we recognize this percent from the revenue.

    Hi,

The fixed price Completed percentage revenue method seems to be doing exactly what your construction company needs.

it is  calculating a percentage of completion based on the actual costs vs estimated/budgeted costs -> then it is calculating the revenue to recognize based on this percentage and contract value. Also - at the time of estimate rev rec run - user can override the calculated percentage complete with a different one and system will recalculate the revenue to recognize.

    Have you explored this option?

    Thank you,

    Maria

    I didn't explore this option.

Do you have any documentation for it?

    Thank you,

    Ahmed Gamal
