How do I turn on database logging for "Activate change management"?

Alright Dudes,

One of our users raised the fact that Activate change management is visible and can be edited by all users. This seems to be a bit of a concern as turning it off means that our workflows appear to auto-approve things without going through the correct process.

I was wondering if it would be possible to turn on database logging for this field, and also if it's possible to remove the ability to edit it from non-admin users?

I have tried to find the details of the field in the AOT, it lives in the PurchParameters table) but get the below properties:

8054.Capture.JPG

Which doesn't tell me which Configuration key and Label I need to look for in the database logging lists.

I've also checked out the security role privileges to see if I can disable editing for the field, but am having trouble locating such a field (if it exists as a privilege you can add/remove from the roles).

Ta

Dan

    Hi Dan,

It is possible to set some database logging or use security permissions override on a role to restrict field access.

On the PurchParameters table there are these two fields: ChangeRequestAllowOverride and ChangeRequestEnabled

The VendTable has the next three fields: ChangeRequestAllowOverride, ChangeRequestEnabled and ChangeRequest

The PurchTable has the field ChangeRequestRequired.

Based on several settings on these tables, some x++ code has the business logic when change management is active on the vendor and/or purchase order level.

Database logging might be more cumbersome as on creation of a vendor or purchase order initial chosen values from the insert will be used. You cannot directly see if the default was overwritten. So probably securing the fields would be a better approach.
