Hi,
Is there a way to change the exchange rate in PO that is created in project accounting?
I know that the default exchange rate is the one that is setup in exchange rate table.
But my client wants to use a different exchange rate for specific PO only.
Pls advise.
Thanks.
Hi marypeace,
You should be able to change the default exchange rate in the PO header.
Have you tried doing that already?
Best regards,
Ludwig
Hi Ludwig,
You cannot change the default exchange rate in PO when you go to Purchase tab in the action pane>>click Totals. The exchange rate is disabled.
I can change the exchange rate during PO invoicing but during PO creation I cannot change the exchange rate.
Just double checked that and you are right.
So, the effect of that is that your committed costs might be over/understated by the exchange rate different between the system rate and the rate you would like to have.
Is there any other issue that you see?
I'm just thinking if there is a way to change the default exchange rate in Project PO.
Anyway, Thanks for always accommodating my queries.
Good morning marypeace,
I think the only way would be posting something on the ideas/experience site.
experience.dynamics.com/.../
When making a suggestion there you need a justification and in my opinion the risk of over/understated committed costs could be a good justification as it can result in wrong decision making if the exchange rate fluctuation is large enough.
Thank you for introducing to me this experience.dynamics.com/.../ site.
