Dynamics NAV 2018 don't delete temporary file after compilation of report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

Development environment creates temp files when compiling reports, but don't delete them.

Files are created in folder C:\Users\USER\AppData\Local\Temp\Microsoft Dynamics\

For each report compilation created unique folder. Each folder size is ~24MB.

So, compiling reports you can run out of space on drive C: very fast.

Can anybody check this issue?

May be problem with my installation...

I do not face the same issue with my installation. What folder is created? Is it created always when you just compile a report without any changes or only when changes are done? They are not deleted even if you close Dev environment and reboot?

Folders created always when just compile report and not deleted after close DevEnv and reboot.

Folders created in user profile in following path: C:\Users\olegsv\AppData\Local\Temp\Microsoft Dynamics\7444\

Where 7444 is finsql.exe process id.

Under this folder for each compiled report is created folder with random name, for example:

    0aba2aaa772d431999cb01ec98af7abc

    Dear Olegs,

I have the same issue, the temporary folder from the development environment is creating for all of the compiled objects a folder. (29GB used for compiling objects)

Did you manage to resolve the issue? by the way there are multiple installations on the pc.

    Regards,

    Vasilis Charalambous

No, i didn't resolve it. Problem occurred also on other workstations.

Hope, Microsoft will solve it in next CU.

Hello, Yes in CU1 problem still reproduced.

Looks like now it is also "implemented" in latest NAV 2017 version.

NAV 2018 CU2 doesn’t have this problem. Upgrade could be useful.

The problem still occur in the CU2 install - compiling eats up the C: in no time...
