Attach Document to Opportunity

Is there a way to attach a document to an opportunity in the same manner which notes enable you to attach a document. Often the sales person issue a quote or include artwork or other documentation with an opportunity. They would like to associate this with the opportunity.

Opportunities already have notes.. you can use opportunity notes to attach documentation related to opportunity.

This is the easy way..

The only place out of box that can enable you to attach documents is on notes, you can attach notes to the opportunity and documents on it.

There are few solutions which give multiple upload functionality like this one: http://www.remotingcoders.com/(X(1)S(hw1p2jerpitsh0kvpplchhs4))/Pages/CrmMultiFileUpload.aspx?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

You can always build a custom solution.

Another way to look is if you want to use Sharepoint document libraries.

you can attach documents in the notes field. This blog shows you how

Hi Stephen,

OOB Opportunity Entity in Dynamics CRM has Notes enabled. Therefore you should be able to attach documents.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I believe that I have the opportunity configured for notes with attachments. See Below, But when I view an opportunity I don't see an area for activities or notes?

Do you have Note Pane on your opportunity form.

It has Notes.. if not then you can add Note pane to your form, from opportunity entity form customization.

When you added Notes to form, default tab is activities, you can change it to Notes.. so that Notes tab will be always visible.

Yes, we are aware about adding the documents into Notes section. do you have any idea about this requirement ? through outlook plugin, while i send any emails - i can track to an opportunity.

1) That email is stored under Activities along with Document.

2) Is it possible to store those documents into CRM Opps -> Document section automatically.

Hi Stephen, Are there any tool or way to save the attachment of an email into CRM Opportunities' Document section automatically.

We have MS Outlook Plugins and its working fine. through that, I can track (link) my opps into an email.

The notes tab with the attachment appears to only allow a single document. Is there a way to get a documents section to show?
