Consolidated TB values not matching with the standalone TB for respective units

Posted on by 414

HI,

1. There are around 55 units in Navision

2. We have closed each units wise income statement.

3. In group level company we have run the consolidation month wise. Than we closed the income statement.

Consolidated TB values not matching with the standalone TB for respective units how to resolve this issue...?

    Hi All,

I got the solution. We have updated each unit wise retained earning account value manually while closing income statement in consolidation company.

Am I right in saying that you are closing your income statement in the consolidated (group) company? If you do, your TB that you compare (group vs individual companies) should NOT include the closing entries (hence will not include the retained earning account). When closing income statement in NAV, even if you tick 'Close by Business Unit Code', the retained earning account is the absolute total, and doesn't have the BU code.

If you want to compare TBs after closing income statement - then you should consolidate data after individual statements are closed, and include closed entries in the consolidation.

Don't know if that helps you but this is just how NAV works

    Thank you very much Robertas

I'm agree but problem is in one G/L account that is retained earning account. Particularly in this account value are not matching with standalone TB and one thing I was observed here when I'm closing income statement in group level in retained earning account business code getting null after posting the journals

consolidation TB is showing me opening balance amount of each business units. because of this value I'm getting difference in TB please refer the attachment.

    Hi Shambhu

Usually discrepancies are caused by the setup of the G/L Accounts in subsidiaries. For example, if a certain G/L Account has the "Consol. Credit Account" defined, but "Consol. Debit Account" blank, then credits will go into one account and debits into a different account. This would make TB difficult to reconcile.

So first things first, you need to review "Consol. Credit Account" and "Consol. Debit Account" fields in COA of the subsidiary.

You need to compare the Chart of Accounts for all companies with consolidation companies . Check for difference for ledger accounts.
