Hi experts,
just want to make sure I am not crazy, please:
(1) "Does the Dynamics 365 Project Operations license entitles users to use Dynamics 365 F&O (at least the project accounting modules) too? But you would need to purchase a second lot of 20 users for D365 F&O, since you have to deploy the rest of the ERP. Project Operations only gives access to PMA on D365 F&O"
(2) "We can deploy Dynamics 365 in 3 flavors: (1) CE Only (LIte deployment); (2) Project Ops for Resource/non-stocked scenarios (D365 CE + D365 F&O) and (3) Project Ops for stoecked Scenarios (D365 F&O Only) - Correct? - see here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/environment/determine-deployment-type "
(3) "Basically, Dynamics 365 Project Operations encapsulates the previous D365 PSA and, for a advanced Project Accounting, that can be handled in D365 F&O, and dual-writes can be deployed to support the integration"
(4) "If going for a full stcocked scenario or resource/non-stoacked scenario, there is no need for additional D365 F&O licenses"
Are the 4 statements above correct?
I have collated some links below of all the documentation that supports these...

Thanks, Chris! Fabulous way of answering!
Hi,
Answers inline:
(1) "Does the Dynamics 365 Project Operations license entitles users to use Dynamics 365 F&O (at least the project accounting modules) too? But you would need to purchase a second lot of 20 users for D365 F&O, since you have to deploy the rest of the ERP. Project Operations only gives access to PMA on D365 F&O"
The minimum purchase of 20 'full' licenses will give you entitlement to deploy the CE based app AND the F&O environment for integrated mode. Finance and Supply Chain full licenses can count towards the minimum (but attach licenses don't count.) The Project Operations license permits access to the project related security roles in F&O as well as the 'activity' level roles across the other F&O modules. If you deploy a legal entity in integrated mode, a lot of the traditional project management and accounting features in F&O are hidden as the expectation is the processes mostly take place in the CE app instead, but you can mix and match deployment modes by legal entity.
(2) "We can deploy Dynamics 365 in 3 flavors: (1) CE Only (LIte deployment); (2) Project Ops for Resource/non-stocked scenarios (D365 CE + D365 F&O) and (3) Project Ops for stoecked Scenarios (D365 F&O Only) - Correct? - see here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/project-operations/environment/determine-deployment-type "
Correct
(3) "Basically, Dynamics 365 Project Operations encapsulates the previous D365 PSA and, for a advanced Project Accounting, that can be handled in D365 F&O, and dual-writes can be deployed to support the integration"
Basically, yes. The CE based app is a step forwards - with a number of changes in the data model - from the old PSA solution but many features remain common. Integrated mode gives you that out of the box DualWrite integration to provide project accounting functionality from F&O and feeds back posted actuals into the CE app.
(4) "If going for a full stcocked scenario or resource/non-stoacked scenario, there is no need for additional D365 F&O licenses"
Additional licenses would be required if the customer wishes to make use of other F&O modules/functionality that is not included in the Project Operations license - is is likely that you would want to take advantage of some of the more advanced Finance and/or Supply Chain features. You can consider this scenario just like a traditional implementation of F&O where the business requirements are mapped to the features by a solution architect and then the required licenses can be evaluated based on that analysis.
