It depends on how you invoice, and how you analyse costs and at what level of detail you want to compare actual with estimate.

There are many ways to analyse the data including an export to Excel pivot table option.

    Hi,

in the invoice i will invoice using on-account method ,but here we are talking about available section in WBS, my question why it's available in the task level and what's the relation between the task and the below lines , I'm assuming that we can get p&L for this particular task by using this section , but you can add more based on your knowledge of this module .

    Hi ahmed.kimo,

The estimated cost and revenue line details section allows you a detailed estimation of your prospective project costs to arrive at at planned cost value.

Take your screenprint on top as an example.

You are currently working in the project planning view that allows you recording categories and hours for the prospective time required for a project.

The times you enter in the planning view will then be translated into $-terms in the estimated cost and revenue section.

Now imagine that you do not only need employees for the project but also some items and that you will also require to spent some money for travel, hotel and so on.

If you have an idea about the costs of those expenses you can include them in the estimate and cost and revenue section by clicking the 'add line' button.

As a result the total planned costs will increase.

If you later on record your actual costs against this project you can open the tracking view forms that are available in the project control tab. From there you can identify the difference between the actual costs, the remaining effort (=> so-called estimate to complete) and the expected total costs once the project is finished.

Please also have a look at the following site that provides some additional Information on the tracking view forms.

    Hope this helps,

    Ludwig

    Hello ahmed.kimo,

There are not much better information available than what is provided in the whitepaper magic1949 mentioned. In addition, you can take a look at the training videos available on the Dynamics learning portal. If you also cannot find the information you are looking for there, then you need to do some tests in a demo environment.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
