Dynamics CRM Knowledge Base Questions

Hi everyone, we are in a process of adopting Knowledge Base functionality in our organization, and the stakeholders of the project have some questions on which i couldn't find the answer, so I was hoping someone can help.

  • How long it takes for an article before it is visible on CRM Portal (current Power Apps Portal) - I did some tests on that question but there was no straight answer as some articles were visible a couple of hours after they were published. Is there a minimum-maximum time before it is visible externally? Any documentation that supports that statement is even better.
  • Can published article on a CRM Portal current (Power Apps Portal) have metadata - to be visible in google upon search? If yes how this can be configured? we already use metadata for some stuff to appear in google search but never used it in the context of CRM KBs/Portals.
  • Can two people work simultaneously on one article? What happens if the first who finishes save it and published and after that, the second also finishes and publishes it?

    Hi Kiril,

    Based on the following blog article, I believe knowledge articles are considered non-configuration entities, so the SLA on cache refresh is 15 minutes:

    powerapps.microsoft.com/.../

    With regards to the metadata, the out-of-the-box knowledge article is a bit difficult to customize, so you might have to go down the route of something like:

    colinvermander.com/.../
