Fixed Asset - Changing Status of Asset

Happy New  Year D365 team!

There are a number of fixed assets that I need to change from "Closed" to "Open".

I can do it individually in the register but it would take me a day!

I have the excel template, but it states when I try to upload,  that only read-only fields can not be over-ridden, which then tells me there must be some setting where I can change the fields so that whatever I updated it to will go through.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi NZNZ123,

    You need to talk to a developer who can help you fixing this issue. Either the entity can be adjusted or they can create a script that is making this update for you.

    HI,

    there is no standard method to set the fixed asset from Closed to open. You need to create a script to auto update.

    Dear Dr. Ludwig

    Just wondering, manually changing the status from closed to open. will it have any effect if I make a disposal - scrap.

    I too have an asset that is fully depreciated but need to change the status from closed to open.

    Hi sayyed ar,

    You can manually change the status and re-open it if needed.

    If you dispose the asset e.g. by recording a scrap or sales transaction then it will have an influence on the transactions posted for your fixed asset.

    nope it seems like the developer we have is not sure so i have to manually open each item.....120+ assets...
