Classic client not responding when exporting data from item table Nav2009

We are migrating from old DOS Navision 3.56 to Nav2009. Our data from the old system is invalid, and to avoid too high costs I am doing the dataconversion instead of our Partner.

We have 56792 items each consisting of 102 individual datafields. Nav2009 is hosted on a 3 tier setup.

When I export the data (only those with valid data) the classic client freezes. Windows is still responding, and CPU load is approximately 50%, and RAM usage only 1.7%. It's a 64 bit OS.

It takes maybe 10-15 minutes then the export is done, and the client responds again. The resulting XLS file is approx 4 MB large, and all records has been written.

When I export data from the customer table, consisting of 2139 posts with 92 data fields there are no problems arising.

Any idea what can cause this issue?, any idea would be highly appreciated.
