Hello everyone,
I enabled the SharePoint integration for a custom entity. In the Documents tab where we upload the files inside the entity we have the functionality to edit the file properties and define the metadata for the file as below:
As you see above when the properties dialog has launched the Title and Name fields are showing.
What I am trying to achieve is the below:
I have added a column called Expiry Date in SharePoint in the library for this entity.
Whenever the user uploads a file from the document grid tab that will be related to the record I want the user to be able to assign the expiry date for the document.
How can we customize the "Edit Properties" dialog to provide the expiry date field that has been created in the library?
Is it possible to achieve the above requirements? If so, could you please provide an example of a resource link that allows me to customize the dialog?
If it's not feasible, what can be the alternative solution to set expiration dates on any document that will be uploaded?
Any help is highly appreciated.
Best regards,
EBMRay

Hello Joergen ,
Thank you so much for providing the above blog post.
This is exactly what I need and seems that I should create a custom button on the subgrid that will launch a dialog to set the metadata and trigger a flow on the background to update it directly in SharePoint.
Best regards,
EBMRay
Hi EBMRay,
please have a look at this blog post by MVP Linn Zaw Win:
SharePoint Document Upload in Dynamics 365/Microsoft Dataverse with Custom Field (Part 3 of 3) (linnzawwin.blogspot.com)
You should read his complete series of blog posts about the SharePoint Integration in Model Driven Apps. The post above should be the one with the solution you are looking for. The Power Automate flow he is using is also provided by him in his GitHub repository.

Hello Maulik Shah ,
Thank you for your reply.
From SharePoint I can change it without any issues, but I meant from the Model-driven app I would like to set the Expiry date for the file and by not going to the SharePoint site to update the metadata of the file.
How we can customize the "Edit Properties dialog" to make it work without going to the SharePoint site?
Awating your response.
Best regards,
EBMRay
