How to configure the search results to appear upon pressing only one letter?

Hello.

My company is using CRM Dynamics to register cases, a few weeks ago there was a UI redesign which I would like to revert if there's any possible way, but there's one change that has been affecting the way our employees register new cases to the spreadsheet.

Before, if you typed a single letter, it would show you the suggestions starting with that letter right away, now it requires a 2 letter input to show results, as you can see on the following screenshots.

One letter, no results.

Two letters, starts showing results.

Is there any way to solve this? Thank you in advance.

I am afraid that this is not feasible for now...

    Hello,

Thank you for your detailed reply, as you found exactly what I was talking about. However I remain with one doubt, is there any way to make this change per-user and not globally to everyone? So each individual could configure it according to their preferences.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi,

This change is brought by the Wave 2 2021 release, which is deployed on several environments during this week. Microsoft has introduced two settings that allow you to configure Lookup behavior.

    • Minimum number of characters to trigger typeahead search: The minimum number of characters that trigger an automatic typeahead search in a lookup field in model-driven apps.
This setting can be used to improve lookup performance, particularly when the underlying environment database has huge amounts of data.
      Default value: 2
    • Delay between character inputs that will trigger a search: the delay interval in milliseconds that will be introduced in lookups before a search is executed.
This can be used to improve lookup performance, particularly when the underlying environment database has huge amounts of data.
      Default value: 250ms

These settings can be found in the Power Platform admin center by going to Environments > [select an environment] > Settings > Product >Behavior.

Please note that the change may take some time to apply, cleaning the browser cache may be necessary. Also, you can find more details on how to manage behavior settings for Dynamics 365 CRM applications on the following documentation:  https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/settings-behavior

    Good Luck !!
