What do 'CDS Default Publisher' do?

Hi,

Today I used new Power Apps to add a new field, but I found the prefix of the name is 'cre42', not the default prefix I set before. After that, if I used old UI to add a field, it will be the default prefix I set.

Then I checked and found that this prefix is CDS Default Publisher in CRM. I wonder how can I set default publisher in the new Power Apps, or if I set the prefix of 'CDS Default Publisher'' to something else, will it affect?

    Hi Expert,

I know some of my operations are irregular, but I still don't understand about this thing. When I navigate directly to Date-> Entity to add a new field, it uses CDS publisher, I don't understand why, this CDS publisher is not be created by me. And I don't understand why this way adds a new field whose default publisher is CDS?

    Hello,

Please refer to this article, which will explain what Publishers are used for in CDS: docs.microsoft.com/.../change-solution-publisher-prefix

The "CDS Default Publisher" you mentioned is just an existing publisher in your organization. For your own customizations and solutions you might want to create your own.

    Hi,

You should always create field within the solution you created. And while creating solution you can select default prefix or you can created new prefix and select that while creating solution.

Now whenever you add any field within that solution it will always take the prefix name which you have selected while creating the solution.
