Arrival Overview

Our Receiving people are having a problem with the Journal Lines, locations form that they get to from the Arrival Overview function.

In Inventory Management,go to Periodic > Arrival Overview.

Change Setup name from 'Options used' to 'Inquiry' and hit update.

Locate a PO with a Receipt in Progress of Complete

Click the Journals button > Show Arrivals From Receipts

On the Location Journal form click the Lines button.

On the Journal Lines, locations form, click the Functions button. It kills AX. The program closes...

 Any ideas?

It does this in our Production and Pilot instances. We have a Dev (development) environment that hasn't been refreshed in months. It does not crash there.

     Hi Stephen,

In general these problems arise due to compilation issue.

    1. Identify the method or place which causes the crash, try to just add a line of comment and then compile. This way the compiler rebuilds the component properly.

    2. If step.1 doesn't work, give it a compile forward for the classes associated with the code.

    3. if step 2 doesn't work, remove axapd.aoi file and restart the ax and try.

I hope one of this works. But I assume that your code base is the same in all the environments.

If not so..you should also check the difference in code.

Thanks! All I needed to do was compile the form that the button was on.

I'm not sure why I would have to do that...the form had not been customized. But that solved my problem!

Good to know Stephen. But that's the way Ax is ;) @sometimes..the compiler needs some improvement. The case is same when you modify the base class and if you don't run a compile forward you will get strange errors.
