There might be a danger to the database only in case the integration development is done not wisely or intentionally not proper. If you ask is there a theoretical possibility to establish such an integration that would harm your database - yes, it is theoretically possible, but this comment relates to any integration, not necessarily with 3CX. The integration with 3CX itself does not lead to any danger of corruption.
Anyone experienced in integrating NAV+3CX call center software? How such setup being done if it could corrupt data like previously mentioned in this thread.
Seem fine according to this article:
msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh166960(v=nav.90).aspx
not true?
If you do not have access to the server then you do not have a way to open up the developer environment. (There are ways to do it but it is not recommended).
Best option you have is to request your partner to provide you the customerportral login password and user name. If you have the login you will be able to check the license file.
It is very unlikely for you to not to have the official confirmation email from Microsoft, Normally once the license are purchased Microsoft will send a e-mail to the customer with login details.
Open "Dynamics NAV 2016 Development Environment" > Click Tools > License Information.
You would come know, the exact NAV licensing details. You can always demand the NAV license file from your partner.
You can contact Microsoft, if you need some support on the same.
Hi Tharanga - Since vendor own the server and everything on it, how could we try what you suggested?
Hi Vishal - How can we know vendor really buy license for us if there is no proof?
Vendor said it will corrupt they don't even allow us to try.
Everything was setup by vendor and we don't really know what they upload to server. There is no paper too.
So how to integrate a third party system to NAV via web service? Why 3CX call center software can integrate without corrupt the database?
You can easily login to customer portal and download and view your license. In the customer portal you have the option to view the granules that you have been assigned.
If you already have the downloaded license file you can open it using notepad and view the deader information.
Yes Dynamics NAV Database can be corrupted via OData queries. If you can describe the scenario more we will be able to give you a complete answer.
If you are looking to see what permissions or granules you have on the license then you can ask your partner to provide a permission detail text for the license which will provide more information about your license. Regarding corrupt yes you can corrupt the data using OData Queries but in order to do that you need to first publish the page or codeunits as OData services if you don't publish anything you don't have access to the system and you cannot corrupt.
What exactly do you want to verify in your NAV license? Any specific permission or users etc.?
Are you facing any error message (DB corrupt) while using oData?
