Error in starting Management Reporter on the Ax client.

Hi Guys,

         I have installed Management Reporter successfully on our AX 2012 R3 server but when we are trying to open it through client we are facing the following error :

    "There is no program associated to perform the requested action. Please install a program or, if one is already installed, create a association in the default program control panel."

    Hi Ax_Tushar,

    Can you please provide some more information? What is "open it"? Which program did you try to start? Confiuration console? MR from the AX menu?

    When you say you have installed succesfully, did you also configured the Datamart already?

    Hi Andre,

                 Thanks for ur reply, I have installed MR on the server and its running fine on the server (ie why I assumed that its must have been installed successfully). Now I have a client system of AX where when I am trying to click on Management Reporter and its throwing the error kindly have a look at the screen shot :

    Hi,

    Please check if you have installed tghe Management Reporter Client program on the machine where you start the Management reporter.

    Hi Andre,

                   Yes you are right we need to install MR Client component on our client machine but the setup is not showing "Management reporter client" in installation wizard, I found this screen shot on one of the blog :

    We are not getting the option marked in red on our current setup is there any other setup that we can find on partner source or can you suggest what should I do...

    Hi,

    Which version of MR do you currently have? CU10?

    Are you installing MR from separate MR setup media or are you installing MR using the AX 2012 R3 setup media?

    Hi,

        Thank you for your constant replies.. I have installed MR Version : 2.1.8001.0 by using AX 2012 R3 setup media. Now I am trying to install MR Client by using the same AX 2012 R3 setup media, firstly is it possible to install MR Client using this same setup or do I need to install MR from separate MR setup media and if its possible with AX 2012 R3 setup media then what component should I select ?

    We are having this exact same issue on 2 of our application (Terminal) servers.  The MR client is installed (CU10) and it can be launched outside of AX.  However, when trying to launch from within AX we are receiving the same error message.  

    It appears that the URL it is trying to launch is:  "mrd://?ServerConnection=http://rpt01:4712/&Company=CPCA".

    If I create a shortcut to this URL on one of our application servers that works, it launches correctly.  If I try on one of the non-working servers I receive an error message "This app can't run on your PC".

    Does anyone know how Windows (and AX) knows how to handle an mrd:// URL for Management Reporter?

    I've run into the same issue after uninstalling MR Designer and re-installing.  

    Now the association is broken for the "Management Reporter" link in the AX Client.

    If launch it from the Start Menu it works without issue.  

    As well, the installation logs don't indicate an error or anything abnormal, and other than this forum thread, I'm not seeing anyone else with this issue.

    Hi Dan,

    Have you checked the MR link in the General Ledger parameters? Probably after reinstall you have used another machine or port?
