When posting a production journal, the unit cost associated with the item is 0.6 which is correct, as it is related to a specific lot number. Here is the item ledger entry:
When we click on the unit cost ( 0.6 ) to drill down for further details, we find two lines !!
The two lines are related to the same production journal . On the production we have picked the lot with the cost ( 0.6 ) , why there are two lines which makes up to 0.6 ( 2.18 - 1.58 ) ??
As you can see, we only have two cost layers ( Item Valuation is FIFO )
Is there any justification ? We are seeing this quite a lot, sometimes when posting a sales invoice, The direct cost has two lines .

That's the idea.
Any feedback on my last question ? Does NAV considers Average Costing as the default costing method then applies cost Adjustment accordingly to the selected valuation method ?
So does it mean that the system ( by default ) considers the average cost .. After posting, cost adjustment is applied when the valuation method is FIFO ?
That means all system entries will consider the average cost ?
Hi
Initial cost of consumed item is 2.18 and then system has adjusted it to 0.6 by making an adjustment entry (you can notice 'Adjustment' tick in second line of value entry). You can verify consumed item's purchase or any positive entry's cost.
Anybody ?
Your help is highly appreciated ?
If I'm not wrong, it's the unit cost. But you should be able to find official documentation by Microsoft of how all type of cost works.
Understood, where the first value come from ?
As you can see there's a check called adjustement, in the first line makes an entry by the value, in the second is where the system adjust by the FIFO, LIFO, etc.
