Add Dynamics Trial Instance to Existing Office 365 Tenant

Hi All,

I just have a question regarding the best way to setup a dynamics trial on an existing office 365 tenant? 

I'm not sure if you can setup a trial in the sense that a trial is free or since you have a tenant if you can only setup a sandbox instance of dynamics 365?

I would prefer to setup a trial instance instead as this is free for up to 30/60 days and convert this to sandbox instance at a later stage and eventually create a separate production instance... this would save on cost... 

or since you have a tenant to only create a sandbox and start paying immediately...  

i'm not sure if this is possible or what the best way forward is.

    Hi Partner

    You cannot setup a new trial instance with the Existing tenant name,  as this is unique. While creating a trial if you enter the same tenant name this will show an Error saying "this name is already exist/Not available"

    You can only add sandbox and Production instance to current existing tenant. Here's the link for reference docs.microsoft.com/.../add-instance-subscription

    Thanks for the reply.

    What you are saying is what my research has lead me to believe...

    I see there is a way to create a trial for dynamics outside of the office 365 tenancy using a name different to your tenancy (obviously) and

    then later to consolidate your trial into your office 365 tenancy.

    This is however very messy and is executed by MS which can take up to 8 weeks.

    So sandbox it is and i will have to pay...
