Dynamic AX 2012 R2 CU7

Not sure if this is known issue or the hot fix is already out there on CU8/CU9, kindly help to confirm if it's bugs or just setting problem

We are using Project timesheet to post employee registered working hours weekly, once posted, it supposed to generate journal line to project cost and payroll allocation. If I choose to use Effective Labor Rate on employer level and select 'elr' check-mark on PMA/setup/prices/cost prices(hour), it will post the timesheet, journal line generate per hour rate using ELR.

But, the ELR rate is not something I want to capture. Thus, I tried to post without using ELR on employee profile and on PMA/setup/prices/cost prices(hour) for the employee, posting is still valid and go through, but it posted all journal lines with '0' value regardless of working hours recorded.

I have tried to post using Hour journal without ELR, it have no issue.

Anybody with such experience are welcome to advise. Thanks for your help in advance

    Hi AXnewbie,

The question is at what point in time you did the setup for the cost prices? was the timesheet already submitted for approval? At time of submitting price information will be gathered and completed in the timesheets.

    Hi André,

I have one whole list of approved timesheet. So, you mean to say that once the timesheet has been approved, if I create the cost price after the timesheet is approved (even though I set the start date way before the timesheet date) , it's not going to work and will result in 0 journal line?

But if I tick ELR check-mark, it works whether the regardless whether the timesheet is created before or after the cost price per hour is set up.

    Hi AXNewbie,

Indeed. The costprice field remains 0 when it is approved. You can create a script to correct the cost prices in the timesheet information before you do the posting. This will not work if you have the parameter set to do an automatic posting after approval. A script will only work for not posted timesheets.

Using the 'Adjustment' functionality you can correct the cost price afterwards.

    Hi André,

Thanks lot for the advice, I will give a try on Monday and update accordingly as I have no access to co AX at the moment.

Meanwhile, can help to take a look at this issue,

the original issue that brings me to create current thread

    For your reference:

    community.dynamics.com/.../192960

I have created project A with budget say USD100,000 for budget type project hour and approved the budget. I am using timesheet to record and post  employee B weekly registered working hours for this project A.

The rate for the employee per hour is USD20, I am using Effective Labour Rate, our company standard working hours is 42.5 per week. Now, let's say the employee registered working hours for the week is 55 hours, when I post the timesheet, on AX the timesheet itself show that the ELR per hour is = (42.50*20) / 55 =USD15.45 per hour and it posted all the lines on the timesheet.

But when I go to the Project, on the action tab "Plan" - project budget - project budget balances,

The approved budget for budget type Hour shown is USD100,000, the consumed budget shown is USD656.65 (42.50*USD15.45=656.625 rounded to 656.65).

My question: is there anyway to capture the utilized hour instead of standard hours per week as consumed budget? I want the consumed budget to capture 55*15.45=USD849.75 instead of 656.65. Can anybody help? Thanks

    Fyi

on my timesheet line, it posted all lines total working hour on timesheet with ELR rate, e.g for Monday is 12 hours, for tuesday is 12 hours, wed is 10hours, thu is 11 hours, friday is 10 hours. Lets use above rate $15.45, on posted timesheet, if I open up the posted timesheet,  I go to "hours transaction related information" button, I can see that each line is posted in double entry on its subjournal with following calculation

    Mon 12*15.45

    Tue 12*15.45

    Wed 10*15.45

    Thu 11*15.45

    Fri 10*15.45

which is 849.75 If I add up the total sum posted to both ledgers accounts

but I don't get it why its only 656.65 is reflected on consumed budget

    Hi André,

Thanks for help, appreciated, issue is resolved, yes, without ELR, the cost price have to be set before timesheet is approved.
