i am working on setting up coverage groups for my client. they have raw material (purchased items) with varying lead time between 1 day to 1 Year. they also have produced items which take anywhere between 1 - 4 weeks to manufacture. i wanted so advice or pointers on how to design the coverage for the same? should i consider ABC classification of the parts so that i can categorize some of them into requirement based or period based coverage. are there any rules that i need to follow ? any advise or pointers will be greatly appreciated.
