service maintenance - Security enhancements

Hi all

Looking for advice and guidance being new to the LCS part of system administration.

I receive emails about scheduled service maintenance, security enhancements but cannot find any further information to what this is, what it does, what part of the system it affects as we do have on-going issues. changes when these maintenances are performed with no detail.

any wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
