Linking Employee absences to resource availability and also Time and Attendance integration

Posted on by 1,330

Hi,

Essentially two parts to my question...

1) We are looking at using the HR module in Dynamics NAV 2015. It is very easy to record and report absences and also link employees to resources. However, if I record an absence against an employee that is linked to a resource, the availability calendar of the resource does not reflect that absence. Can this availability be linked?

2) We currently use ProTime for recording time and attendance. We use scanners to record people arriving and departing. Does anybody have experience of integrating T&A (either software or hardware) with Dynamics NAV?

We have queried with our partner but would appreciate a breadth of opinon.

Thanks,

Guy

    1. Does not available in the default NAV, but with the customizations you will be able to link it.

    2. You need to have the integration and mainly need to consider integration points. If T&A has the capacity to expose its data as webservices then you can easily link it with NAV. Even if the web service is not available there are many options available. Such as direct SQL (Not much recommended)

    1) It is not possible by default. But, you can make some customization if you need it.

    2) You can make integration between ProTime and NAV. If ProTime has web services, this is the best way. Or you can use some other way for it. Of course, if they already has some NAV connector, this is the best. T&A integration is quite often requirement; technically it is not so complex, but you have to prepare good logical model.

    Hi Guy,

    1. The link between employee absence and availability calendar of the resource is not available in standard.

    2. In my opinion, depend on how you calculate payroll, data from T&A should be processed (it registers working time whereas NAV registers absence) before importing to NAV for HR module.

    Hi Guy,

Ask ProTime if they are aware of any add-ons for Dynamics NAV . If not it will have to be an integration .

    Hi,

    Point #1

I don't think there is a possibility to have a linkage in the availability.  You may need to customize.

    Best Regards,
