Leave balance entity for reporting with PowerBI

Hi all,

Is there an easy way to find leave balance values for reporting in PowerBI? None of the data entities seem to hold one, and instead I may have to resort to calculating it off the Leave bank transactions.

My customer essentially just wants a copy of the Leave balance analysis report that's OOTB with Analytics in HR, but with the option to filter on department. Of course the system seems to present the balance value just fine, but I'm having trouble, and Microsoft unfortunately has not added the 'Department' field as a filter option to the report.

Would be really grateful to hear suggestions on this!

    Hi Betty,

You need to use Leave Bank transactions along with other entities like jobPosition, department, Leave request.

That's exactly what I would need, Parag! How did you manage to extract the balance? Which entity is that? I can only find the separate bank transactions.

    Hi Betty,

You can create a custom report based on Leave & absence entities from core HR. I have created one and you can see below data.
