Hi,

I want to know deep about Security policy options, which is present on Global Address Book Parameters form in AX 2012 R3.

it will be more helpful if anyone can explain with the proper example.

in AX 2012 there is a new feature called "Global address book security".

Hi Adnre,

I want to know exact functionality of Secure by legal entity and Secure by address book.

what is the basic setup necessary to achieve this.

Hi Andre,

My question is when i check checkbox Secure by address book one thing i observe that i am able to see customer which are tagg in Addressbook but not all the customer.

because i am able to see all customer which are in Address book and some more customer but not all Customer.

Can anyone tell me reason behind this?

Hi Sachin,

This question is clear. You see customers related to the Address book and some more. This is caused by the security policy design.

It will provide access to all parties related to the Address book(s) where you are linked and also all parties without any Address book linked.

If someone created a party (global address book record) and did not specify an Address book tag, then AX assumes it is not restricted.

Hi Andre,

I understand what you are saying but still i am having confusion or doubt.

In company itself i can see the all parties related to the Address book(s) where i linked while in other company i see all the party why is it like that?

where i can see the party is link to address book i mean to say is there any table back end which stores party address book table information?

Is there any default address book link to the party because i saw some party without having address book still showing? or is it because of security?

can you please help.
