Solution Import Best practices

Posted on by 835

Hello

Currently, we have 1 Dev , 1 test, and 1 production environment. We have 3 other lower enviroments where developers work on future release customizations. Once ready to move to dev, we notice the solution overwrites different components brought over from the lower environments into dev. Does anyone know the best way how to compare changes between the dev and lower environments?

    RE: Solution Import Best practices

    Have you heard about SolutionPacakger?
If you are afraid of un-wanted changes reflect on your environment, then you need to have 1 Manager to review all the changes. All the solution that you have (Dev, Dev Test 1 - 3), need to be extracted with the SolutionPackager. Then with these collection of Solution, you can review the changes and can avoid importing not correct Solution to your Dynamic CRM instance. Hope this help.
