Shortage Report

Does anyone know of a good shortage report in business central? I need to know which POs are missing for each production order. Looking for something like the MD4C report in SAP.

I have the same question (0)

Thank you for the reply, this doesn’t show the PO numbers that meet the demand of the production orders.

    Hi,

Depends, what type of functionality mapped in the system. If you do some custom fields for mapping Shortage against Production. Then you should develop custom report.

As Amit said, if the standard reports don't work for you, you need to customize them.

You can try using Report Extension to extend standard report.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.

Normally someone would run MRP via Planning Worksheet to generate suggesting purchases.  There are a number of reports in the planning area that might work - but I have no idea what MD4C from SAP is and I'd be surprised if there were more than 1 or 2 people on this forum who do.

When you say "PO's are missing for each production order" that is a bit confusing. Production Orders assume that material will be drawn from inventory and it's unusual to peg Supply to the Prod. Order Demand.

What kind of projects are you doing that you match POs to Prod Orders?

    Hi,

Shortage functionality is not available in standard system.

Have you tried the "Purchase Reservation Avail." report?

That can be an option if your purchase orders have reservations against the production orders.
