While posting sales invoice I'm getting error like Gen. posting type must not be in gen. journal line : Journal template name=Journal batch name = line no=1000.and also let me is this technical error or functional error. 7380.Sales-Invoice.png

Hi,

check whether Gen. Posting type is not blank. And use debug tool to findout about the error

Hello,

It's a Setup issue, you need to setup with valid.

Check General Posting Setup, and first setup this and then go for Journal and setup after go for posting.

This error normally occurs when you selected gen prod posting group in general journal

Check whether you have selected gen prod posting group on GL account selected

Go to GL account card and remove gen prod posting group and resell to GL account again on General journal

This is not a technical error, but a matter of setup and certain posting. This one particular means that the General Posting Type field must not be blank, for the specific first line in your journal. The program uses the general posting type, together with the VAT Bus. Posting Group and VAT Prod. Posting Group fields, to find the account to which VAT is posted.Try selecting "Sale" there and make posting. If some other unclear error appears, address it here.
