Hi there,

Every month I invoice 20 customers, each with different amounts. The amounts remain the same for 11 months of the year or whenever they are reviewed.

For example:

Customer A - monthly amount £20

Customer B - monthly amount £30

Customer C - monthly amount £50

Is the best way to tackle this through a free text invoice template for each customer? I'm just wondering if there is a better way?

Also, are you able to state which periods you want the invoices to be posted? I have played around with this with the start date as 1 Aug 2024 and the end date as 1 Nov 2024 ie 4 months but they all get posted in August.

Hey,

Basically, yes thats the way to go. Create the templates and then you can create and post it via batch job

=> Set up and process recurring invoices - Finance | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

In case, you are using project management module, there is also a periodic job to create invoice proposals and post them. Nevertheless, transactions need to be created.

Great, thank you.

I have been able to generate 4 months worth of invoices (say 26 Aug to 26 Nov) but they have all posted in August and all have the same date of 26 Aug.

Do you know whether it is possible to get them posted in Aug, Sept, Oct and Nov and also with the different dates?

I did set up the recurrence in the Customer tab - start date 26 Aug, end date 26 Oct, recurrence monthly, 1 per month.

I must be missing something?!
