Enabling TAPI functionality

In the process of 'leaping' from AX3 to AX2012R2 we are having some difficulty getting the TAPI functionality used to direct incoming call receivers screens to that contacts records be they a customer (primary use) or supplier. Does anyone have experience in this area ? In Ax3 we did not need to utilise any third party add in's to enhance this functionality we just want it to work.

    We implemented 2012 R2 (coming from GP) and we were told it now has limited functionality. In other words, it will not provide you a pop up with an incoming call. I played with it and found that it will create a phone activity for an outbound call, see also community.dynamics.com/.../143240

    Yes, we followed these steps but still need to connect to / recognise the in bound caller code to hopefully switch on the appropriate relation record. Thanks for reply.
