Change invoices, order format

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hi, I am stuck here!

I want to add company logo to invoices and orders. Also want to add more text in them. I tried "custom report layouts" under the "report" function in IT administration. But I cannot make changes for "RDLC".

I then tried "the word". But it gave me a blank word sheet and can do nothing with it.

If there are other functions can be used to formatting documents in NAV? I just could not figure it out! Appreciate any helps!

Grace

    Grace,

To create custom report layout please checkout this video

    www.youtube.com/watch.

When you said you cannot make changes to RDLC what you mean? are you getting an error ?

Regarding adding company logo, that is by default added to the sales document reports but controlled by a setup field on the sales & receivables setup (Logo Position on Documents) so please enable that to show on the report

You only have two formats i.e. RDLC and word.

Sorry i did not see your second message. For PO there is no logo by default you have to customize it. Let me know the error message you are getting when you customize it.

Hi Suresh, The error message is "Microsoft report builder is not installed on this computer".

    What I did is:

First, choose "report layout selection", it will give you the list.

Second, select "custom report layouts" for PO. A window pop up.

Nothing in the window, select "new". And say "insert RDLC".

Try to "edit layout" for RDLC. Then the message is there.

I am not the person who installed NAV. Something may be missed...

    Thank you!

Yes you can download the builder from the following link or if you have visual studio 2013 even that will work.

    Hi Suresh,

I downloaded and made the changes. However, the PO still has no Logo after the changes but if you run the reports in "customize layout" window it has logo there.

    What I missed?

    Thank you!
