Platform update from 21 to 31

Hi,

Last week end we upgrade the platform from version 21 to 31 (Dev VM). While upgrade it failed and there are only two option in the screen 1. Resume and 2. Abort

We tried Resume couple of time and after that we aborted the operation. After this when we opened D365 in browser it always says Service unavailable.

Below is the runbook execution output.

The step 20 failed with the following error:

How to solve this? In worst case how to roll back to working condition.

I cannot recall the error message.

However, one approach that you may take, can be as listed following.

1) deploy/create a new DEV VM

2) Import your developments in it

3) build the system.

This route is bit different than applying update on existing VM

What is the app version of the system? Was it v10 or something older? If older, please deploy a new system that has v10.

App version is 7

App version 7 is no longer supported. It went out of support in June 2017.

docs.microsoft.com/.../versions-update-policy

You need to start using v10, and this means deploying new dev systems.

You also need to do a code upgrade to get your codebase in v10 compatible world.
