Open in Excel Journal Add-in with Project Offset

Is there a way to use the Open in excel journal experience, but offset to a project?

In the UI, if I offset to a project, I have to fill in the extra project details in the project tab.  This seems to be stored on LedgerJournalTrans_Project Table?  Does that have it's own entity I can tie into through the excel extension? 

Is it possible to make an entity that achieves this?  Anyone have any advice or experience?

    Hi Josh,

    There is a data entity for Expense journal lines. You can use this one which includes support for the table LedgerJournalTrans_Project which you mentioned in your question.

    Thanks Andre, I'll look into that.

    Are you suggesting I enter vendor invoices as expense journal lines instead of invoices?  How would that work?  Would I need to create some resource for every vendor?

    Additionally, I have to use vendor invoice for intercompany expense transactions, which I guess would still be a limitation.

    Or are you saying I can somehow use the expense journal lines entity together with the standard vendor invoice template to tie into that project data?
