AX 2009 Excel Import Update Data

Hi,

For AX 2009. Here's the case, I'm using Excel Export and Import. I created a Definition Group via Template Wizard and use this to export data from WMSOrderTrans to Excel. Export is successful. Now, we want to update the Quantity and Expedition Status from 'Activated' to 'Completed'. When I import back my data using Excel Import, I specify the Import Rule to 'Insert New and Update Existing Records', but instead of updating, it creates new record. The goal is to update. Any suggestion how to do this?

    You should not use standard Excel export/import in your everyday operations as it doesn't invoke almost any business logic. Excel export/import is intended to be used to initially populate main tables; use AIF and document services instead.

    Goto your Administration -> Periodic -> Data import/export -> Definition groups -> Table setup -> Choose "Import" in Import status column. Now again goto Definition group -> Import -> Microsoft office excel import window will prompt -> Advance tab -> choose "Insert new and update existing records" in Import rule -> click Ok. Now your data will be updated in the corresponding table.
