Hi All,

I am currently working on a proof of concept for a consulting firm implementing AX.

Consultants at the firm bill different rates on various projects but always earn the same percentage of whatever they are billing at (say 7.5%) in addition to their base salary (called a bonus).

Does anyone have any ideas how to set this up in AX? Can it be done?

Here is an example of what I am trying to describe:

Joe is working on two projects. On project A he is billing @ $200/hour. On project B he is billing @ $300/hour. Joe's base salary is $60,000/year. And his individual bonus is 10% of whatever rate he is billing at.

So if Joe billed 80 hours on project A and 100 hours on project B he would earn [.10(80*200) + .10(100*300)]=$4600 in addition to his base salary.

Why not use commission to achieve this? You can easily setup commission groups and rules to achieve a straight percentage over revenue and it will post inline with the customer invoice posting.

Have you played with auto allocations? If you had an employee dimension and project dimension you could set some rules on the revenue account to auto accrue the bonus to a different account. Maybe.
