Hi experts,
One of my customer is facing memory issues in Dev only.
I told him that DevTest boxes are limited to simple testing at best. That it should not be used for performance testing or similar situations.
He insists that he is not convinced that this is by design. What else can I tell him? Is there any link or document that explains the DevTest boxes limitations?
Thanks in advanced!
What kind of system is it? Is it a MS hosted system (the one that they got with the d365 subscription), Cloud hosted VM in your Azure subscription, or a local VM?
What is the customer doing on this machine when they face the issue?
Hi Nikolaos, it is MS hosted. When multiple users are accessing the system and executing different processes, it could occur. "Exception of type "System OutofMemoryException was thrown"
MS has recently resized the Tier1 boxes. Ours has 56 GB RAM but some have reported to have only 14 in theirs.
One thing you can try to adjust is SQL Server max memory setting, try decreasing it to 6-8 GB.
Anyway you can't do anything about the sizing, so better deploy your own cloud hosted VMs or buy Tier2 add-ons.
Here is an article that details the different environments and their use - docs.microsoft.com/.../environment-planning
EDIT - fixed my link
