DIXF - Importing products

(0) ShareShare

When trying to import a product through DIXF in AX 2012 I get an error:

The data value violates integrity constraints

This happens on 2 items out of over 5000 on the field EcoResProductTranslation_Name.

The field in question is a 60 character string.  I have checked all fields in excel and all are 60 characters or less.  What else could cause this error and how do I find out which one specifically?

Any spaces at the end of the item names? I did this a while ago and there where spaces at the end of the name like:

    "Product Name                                       "

The data value violates integrity constraints

The error message comes from SSIS, which means difference in Data in Provided Source File than Expected income.

e.g. source data may be integer whereas integer is being expected or any reason like that.

in short mismatch in data type.

To resolve it, there are two ways

    1) fix data to in your excel sheet, as per expectation of AX

    OR

    2) use Conversion, which is under Modify source mapping

    Hi Dougq,

I agree with Fredrik. I experienced the same problem and that was the issue.

Is there an effective way to find that?  I figured if I put them in excel and used the LEN function that would tell me if there were any that would push the product names beyond 60 but there are none.  Just as a guess I even removed all products with names that were 60 and still had 2 remaining issues.

    Sohaib Cheema,

This is a CSV file so there is no declared type for each field.  But the field that has an error is a string field and I'm not sure what would cause that.  I might try and play with the conversion option to see if maybe there is an entry that is just numbers and so that is the issue.

Looking at Conversion this option doesn't seem to provide a way for me to do anything helpful.  I would need to know the value that is causing the issue.

Make sure all the required mandatory fields are filled out.

you can look at error log for Data Entity to know more information on error
