I have customized roles(Account Payable module),now i m testing that customization on test user,so i have the following issues during my testing,

when i want to preview of confirmed Po,so there is error,Insufficient rights to execute Menu Item Show Purchase order .
there is no option for Invoice posting....
there is no any option from by which i can preview the PO ,
also when at the the time of PO confirmation when i want to preview the Po confirmed report, it gives me error,Insufficient rights to execute Menu Item Show Purchase order"
same problem with purchpicking list report,while pakcingslip report show normaly...

plz help and guid me in this regards,

Please check the standard AP roles and look for differences related to Maintaining purchase orders.

Perhaps the Security development tool would provide you some additional insights. You can download the tool from Informationsource.

yes i have read about your ans...but it use standard ap roles/duties/privileges, and when i added maintain purchase order duites to my custom previliges,

dear i want to use my custom roles/duties, actually i want to restric /limit my user from some activites,i.e i want to limit the account payble clerk duties upto just PO confirmation,not to allowed him full roles,i mean just customized,for this if i take standard roles and make some customization in it,so it linked the origanl and my customization affected the original/standard roles....

Hi Munsif,

I have the feeling you are not that familiar with some more technical parts of the role based security. Posting e.g. a purchase confirmation needs access on the menu item, but it also needs permissions to execute classes because these classes are updating tables.

These permissions should be added or overridden on a privilege or security role.

The duty I mentioned in you other question could indeed have too much access in AX. The privilege was only giving access to posting the confirmation and do some checks like opening the form Totals.

I think you need to have a look at this privilege and also find the privileges related to e.g. posting the receipt list or invoice.

Dear now i want to create duplicate copy of existing roles/duties is that possible? because i want to create new roles and assign customize privileges,but i also want to keep safe my standard roles/duties and privileges safe and sound,so how to create a duplicate copy of existing roles in which i can customized ,without effecting the original one...?

Hi Munsif,

Yes this is possible. You can duplicate the Roles, Duties and Privileges in the AOT or with help of the Security Development tool.
