Report server high CPU issue

Hi All,

We have 6 AOS (2 Batch servers) servers in our environment with 2 SQL servers.

We have created a configuration file (with all the AOS servers ) and placed it at the following location,

C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS12.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\ReportServer\bin\Microsoft.Dynamics.AX.ReportConfiguration.axc

Now issue is that we are getting high CPU issue more than 90% of CPU is consuming on the only one AOS server and all other AOS servers are not even using 10% of CPU.

We are able to find that the issue is with report server and we have swap AOS servers sequence in configuration file. Always the first AOS in report server config is facing high CPU issue.

Can anybody guide me how to troubleshoot this issue or get more details?

If you intend to load balance your SSRS workload across all of your AOS servers, have you considered a cluster arrangement?  Either a dedicated AOS load balancer, or better yet a Windows NLB cluster?

    Hi Brandon,

We have implemented AOS non dedicated load balancing.

    Hassan

    Hi Crispin,

This idea can work but we want to identify which reports or processes causing high CPU. We want to enhance tuning for those reports/processes.

However, Your idea is great but we can't implement as this is our production environment. We need concrete evidence to perform such activities.

    Regards,

    Hassan

Hi! Hassan Raza, We have this issues lately. but what we did is by separating TempDB, SSRS report server, and the main database server to a different Storage drives. Now our Server is still green and easy loads
