Concern - invalid contact Email address - Send Survey step still flags as successful in Power Automate

Hi,

As part of our project we are triggering surveys via Power Automate.  Upon testing we found even if the contact(recipient of the message) has invalid email address the flow step still flags  as successful execution(although no survey invite activity is created in this scenario).

This seems misleading given the steps should ideally fail in this case as the email address for the contact is invalid. Hence functional impact on the project.

Any idea why this is happening?

How is it working behind the scene? is Dynamics 365 customer voice sending the email first via the customer voice cloud service and following the sent(if successful) is it then creating survey invitation activity in Dynamics 365?

Thanks

    Hi Sanjay,

Thanks for the thoughts.  Yes i can see the invitation failed status.

actually I can also see the customer voice survey invitation activity against the contact with "Failed" status.

Does this activity record get created straightaway as soon as "send survey" step is executed? the reason I am asking depending upon invitation activity status (sent/Failed) I need to update some information on the contact record in the next step of the flow.

    Thanks

When you send the survey via Power Automate, each request is processed by the cloud service. If the survey invite is not sent due to incorrect email address, then the status for survey invite status is set as 'Failed'. You should be able to see the number of invites failed in the invite dashboard.

You can find the different invite status documented here: docs.microsoft.com/.../view-survey-invite
